MSS HV modularized solid soft starter which integrates thyristor components, bypass vacuum switch, trigger control system. This product has compact structure and independent soft start function.
Its working principle is to control the value of output voltage by adjusting the triggering angle of thyristor, and to meet various current and voltage requirements during motor start process. During starting, MSS HV modularized soft starter will increase the terminal voltage of motor according to the preset starting curve, to make the motor smoothly accelerate, in order to reduce the electrical and mechanical impact to power grid, motor itself and motor loads. After the motor reaches normal speed, the bypass switch be closed which means the starting process is finished. MSS HV modularized soft starter will provide running protection to the motor.
The structure of this starter is similar to HV vacuum circuit breaker and it fits the KYN28 cabinet perfectly. MSS can upgrad the traditional HV switch cabinet to a device with both switch and soft start functions. Its performance can completely meet users' requirements.

2. Technical parameters
2.1 working principle
The soft starter will trigger thyristor according to the measured voltage signal and preset parameters, the output voltage will gradually increase in order to decrease the terminal voltage and starting current during motor start, to smoothly accelerate the motor to its rated speed. If the measured current is decreasing it will automatically switch to bypass to realize the soft start of large and medium motors.

2.3 Working condition
Upper limit of ambient temperature is +40ºC (24 hours average 35ºC), and lower limit is 1-5ºC.
The relative humidity is no more than 95 percent. The height above sea level is no more than 2000m.
It should be placed on an indoor place without obvious shake and impact, without fire and explosive dangers and the vertical gradient is no more than 5º.
There must be no conductive dust and corrosive gas.
In case the soft starter will be equipped in special environment, user should communicate with manufacturer and reach an agreement. Normally there are following possible special environments:
If the altitude is over 1000m, the external insulation will decrease, user should ask the manufacturer if the product is applicable. If not applicable the user can choose the special products which can meet the requirements and provided by manufacturer.
If the ambient temperature is too high, the product should run with less load, the continuous start times is reduced or an additional forced cooling fan should be equipped.
If the starter is used in high humidity or big temperature difference site, normally additional protective device should be equipped (heaters e.g.) to avoid condensation.
